Solar Eclipse Will Disrupt More Than The Sunlight
Posted in General by Curtis Williams
When we first mentioned how the upcoming Eclipse passing over Salem Oregon was going to impact our lives, we now find it is going to be even more disruptive than we could have imagined just a few short weeks ago.
With a late crop, and an unprecedented shipping crunch, it appears that almost all local truckers will not be operating on the day of the Eclipse, and most likely the day after as well. Basically the 21st & 22nd of August will need to be treated as a holiday-no shipments.
One south valley shipper says he already has 150 loads scheduled for next week (that’s 6 million pounds from 1 warehouse) for next week. Everyone is trying to get them out before the eclipse and that will back up everything for at least the week after. Then we hit Labor Day.
This is going to test the patience of everyone in the supply chain!
