Warm Season Grasses - Del Sol
Del Sol seeded bermudagrass will produce a dark green turf of medium fine texture.
Easy to establish from seed, Del Sol has good seedling vigor. It will produce a permanent lawn with greater density, yet low in thatch. A reduced plant height means less mower clippings. Del Sol can be mowed at lower mowing heights without scalping.
Del Sol also has excellent drought tolerance. Plus, Del Sol has increased durability, wear tolerance and improved pest and disease resistance.
This overall improvement in turf performance makes Del Sol seeded bermudagrass ideal for:

Establishment
Germination
Soil temperatures need to be 65°F (18°C) or greater for ideal germination, which begins 5-7 days after planting. Coated hulled seed germinates a day to two slower than uncoated hulled seed.
Sow
Broadcast by hand, use seeder, seeder/spiker, or hydroseed. Do not cover with more than 1/4 inch (.6cm) of soil.
Water
Maintain soil moisture around the seed for about 1-2 weeks. Excessive water or rain may wash seed away. Coated seed will require slightly more water, during the first few weeks after sowing. Once established, water infrequently, but heavily.
Mowing
First mowing approximately three weeks after sowing (longer for plantings in early spring or late summer).
Limited Use
1 week after first mowing if establishment is adequate.
Pest/Weed Control
Del Sol bermudagrass is usually pest-resistant. With good management it will usually out compete weeds. Be careful to follow label recommendations for bermudagrass if pesticides or herbicides are used.
Care and Availability
Growing Area
Temperate to tropical climate zones.
Soil
Adapted to all soil types - coarse to fine textured.
pH
Grows well in a board pH range.
Salinity
Tolerates high saline conditions.
Moisture Requirements
During establishment soil moisture and proper drainage is very important. Once established, Del Sol turf will live through extended drought periods and recover rapidly with moisture.
Fertilization
For best results, adequate nitrogen fertilizer is requiredÉduring the growing season, 1 pound of active nitrogen per 1000 sq. ft. (0.5 kg per 100 m2) per month.
Mowing
1/2 - 1 1/2 inch (1.25 - 3.75 cm) mowing height is recommended. For maximum drought tolerance, mowing height should be 3/4" (1.88 cm) or greater.
