Gnome Kentucky Bluegrass

Gnome Kentucky Bluegrass is from the BVMG bluegrass classification, medium textured Kentucky bluegrass cultivar known for its dense growth habit, excellent turf quality, and strong ability to recover from wear through underground rhizomes. It is commonly recommended for home lawns, parks, athletic fields, and golf course fairways or roughs where a durable, attractive, cool-season turf is desired. Gnome performs best in full sun to partial shade, offers good cold tolerance, and blends well with other Kentucky bluegrass or fine fescue varieties for balanced performance. Recommended seeding rates are 2–3 lb per 1,000 sq ft when seeded alone for new lawn establishment, 1–2 lb per 1,000 sq ft for overseeding existing turf, and 40–60 lb per acre for large-scale turf applications, with rates often adjusted downward when used as part of a seed blend rather than a single-variety planting.
